However, Czech women have always been distinguished by its seriousness, and until beloved couple has not yet learned enough of each other, the engagement could be not easy and even impossible question. During dating time and while meeting, couples came up with a variety of tests for each other.
For example, during the first coming in the house of the future bride at the appointed hour groom could find on the threshold a bottle of wine and a sickle with a bundle of straw. If he picked up a sickle or touched the straw, it was believed that her future husband would be hard-working, and if he grabbed the bottle, it was considered nothing good except for drinking she should not wait on him. The future bride on the threshold of his groom’s parents could find a broom, and how carefully she sweeps debris from the porch and how she was involved in the process meant how neat housewife she is going to be.
After the young have successfully passed such audit the engagements were on the way on the selected day during which the parents on both sides talked out about the wedding day and about wedding organizing responsibilities. Groom was supposed to come to engagement ceremony necessarily with a bouquet of bright flowers and beloved engaged couple exchanged rings, returned to each other as a sign of fidelity.
Later on the other day preparing for the wedding was started. For two or three days before the celebration bride with assistants baked pies with three different fillings, which together with her future husband were distributed to all those who are waiting for the wedding. Pies were not only an invitation, but also a demonstration of all the culinary skills of the bride.
On the night before the wedding, the groom's friends secretly planted in the garden of the bride tree and decorated it with bright colored ribbons, colored eggs which symbolized their future common life has to be long; as long as time the tree grows, bright and happy. In the morning, before the wedding ceremony, the bride's married friend handed her a woven wreath of roses with the wishes of love, loyalty and wisdom in family life.
Today, many couples get married in the usual secular clothing for the wedding, but those who decided to keep all the old Czech tradition, choosing clothes of native Czech royal style.
At the wedding the groom himself bought wedding rings and three bouquets of flowers: for the bride, mother in law and for his mother, and, before the wedding, taking the bride from the parental home, as a sign of deep respect he presented flowers; the bouquet for mother in law, according to the tradition has to be the most expensive.
After the wedding blessing ceremony, before leaving the church young couple found red ribbon, which was pulled earlier by their friends. To pass on the new husband had to pay a ransom as symbol of the repurchase of youthful sins. Lowering tape guests liberally sprinkled just married couple with rice, candies, coins, nuts, wishing luck and the prosperity to the new family. Ahead of the entire wedding procession usually were running small kids and scattered flower petals, paving the way of the couple than cajoled and attracted the goddess of fertility in their home. On the way to the house of the bride and groom's friends stood in a long corridor, through which the newly formed family had to pass not unscrambling hands. But it was not so easy, because they were strongly interfered to do so; it was symbolizing family problems, strikes which the young will have to overcome together. Near the threshold of the house guests did a so-called "security ring", scattering around him coins, candies, corn, thereby coaxing household gods that they guarded the house of the groom and the bride from all sorts of adversity. And to fool the evil spirits who live below the threshold, the husband took his wife in his arms and carried through the threshold of the house.
Now, having overcome all obstacles, and being in the house, the young owners on the house announced wedding feast, and, according to custom, they were the last who sat to the festive table.

After the soup the wedding cake was served to couple, which they took in equal parts, and fed each other. Since then, they will do all together in the family; work together, to share the joys and tribulations of two. Then young smashed a plate of soup and swept together the pieces with the broom. It was believed that the more fragments, the greater the happiness in the family, and the first joint cleaning of just married was as symbol of cooperation.
The first dance was for the newlyweds, and then the groom danced with the mother-in-law, then with his mother. With the bride as the first partner was dancing father-in-law, and then the father. Then next two couples of parents danced together, changing partners. This tradition symbolizes the future strong relationships between close relatives of the bride and groom.
In the midst of the holiday according to the custom, groomsmen were quietly stealing the bride and the guests with the groom in charge were obliged to find her and if not found, the groom must pay the ransom.
